Fools, all of them.

I used to think the electoral college system we use to, in the end, elect a new president was outdated and unfair. After all, Al Gore won the popular election in 2000 and not GW Bush. To the converse perhaps, GHW Bush won the popular election in 1992 and not Bill Clinton. I was always told, for the most part, the college existed to prevent the uneducated common folk from electing say, somebody like Hitler, for President. (Although we may have come close in 2000, but I digress.) But recently I read that some 84% percent of the American public was willing to sign a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide. So for now, lets keep the electoral college just to be safe.
