Ding-a-lings

Since before Christmas I have been playing handbells at St. Paul United Methodist Church. We have now started on Easter music. I am impressed by my fellow ringers and their ability to play. We aren't the best on the planet but by golly we try and have fun doing it. After a few weeks off after Christmas everyone was back in the swing, or ring, of things. (Yes bad, bad pun, and intended.) Those without musical training seem to be doing better that those with it. I think the last two ringers in the line might just be getting bored with the wait between rings. We are both ADD and, "Look a chicken!" . . . wait where was I? Exactly! Hopefully we will learn more about the sounds these delicate bells are capable of besides ringing, like strumming and clinking. Just don't hit them together. That hurts me, and they might crack wide open. So far no word on when we can get the SPUMC Ding-a-lings T-shirts made in safety yellow. Until then, ring on!
